About Business STREAM
Business STREAM™ is an online, interactive, broadband TV station
serving the Hull and Humber business community. When we
launched in March 2006, Business STREAM™ was the first of its kind
in the world, and as far as we know, it still is.
Business STREAM™ is perhaps best described as a forum - a place
that business people can visit, at a time that suits them, to
access video-rich, useful and relevant information.
The website is designed to enable users to access the particular
information they need quickly and easily, via industry sectors or
specific portals. Users can choose favourites, rank videos,
post comments, and so on – in other words, it’s very much a
user-led website.
News Review - if there’s an event taking place
in the city region that we think is of interest to the business
community, we’ll try to cover it.
‘It’s Your Business’ - short video features
profiling local SMEs – a superb marketing tool for the companies
involved, and effectively an online digital directory of products
and services in Hull.
Business Support - content ranging from
peer-to-peer support pieces to features involving top management
consultants giving companies the ‘John Harvey-Jones’
treatment. And, increasingly, the business support sector is
looking to Business STREAM™ to deliver its training online.
Special Features - a wide range of topics,
from a look at the award-winning Hull Trains service to an update
on a major regeneration project in Hull city centre.
We started life as a publicly-funded project, part-financed by
the European Union, hence an early focus on small and medium sized
enterprises in Hull. Today, the service is expanding to cover
businesses of any size, with an increasing focus on Humber-wide
initiatives.
All content is produced within Humber by a mixture of production
companies, new start businesses and STREAM’s in-house content
production team. Content is free to access, although we do ask that
individuals register to access programmes in the business support
and special features sections. We hope that you enjoy using
