Decades of Quality Production
For over a century Edwin Snowden & Co Limited have built up a
reputation for boiler repairs and the fabrication of custom made
storage tanks and pressure vessels. More recently fabricated
environmental vessels and hyperbaric chambers have expanded their
product range along with additional boilerhouse services.
Founded in 1898 by Edwin Snowden the company began by producing
steam jacketed pans, tar stills, riveted vessels and boiler
repairs.
In 1934 the business was one of the first to invest in electric
welding which allowed the company to take on larger projects. As
the work became more specialised the company began to engage more
and more in highly-skilled apprenticed staff producing a growing
reputation. Staff with over 40 years service still remain working
alongside young apprentices creating a multiskilled workforce.
Today Edwin Snowden's technology advances alongside their product
range, which continues to expand and diversify and now offer
products to a range of sectors including petrochemical; paint;
pharmaceutical; food; medical; horticultural and marine.
The company manufactures to PD5500:2000 or ASME Vlll construction
standards, including P.E.D requirements and work to the European
quality standard BS EN IS09001:2000.obtained in 1993.
Continual staff development is key to the company's progress. All
welders are coded to BS EN 288 and ASME IX and all employees are
